London Bombings Relief Charitable Fund
The Fund has now closed, having completed the job for which it was set up: to distribute the money that was raised by others as quickly as possible to the victims of the 7th July attacks, and to do it with the minimum of red tape. Financial helpBetween July 2005 and July 2006 the Fund launched five grant programmes:
Thanks to the generosity of our donors we were able to make some additional final payments in October 2006 to those most seriously injured, and a further donation to enhance the work of the 7th July Assistance Centre which is providing a range of support to all those affected by the bombings. Those we have helped include:
The money from the London Bombings Relief Charitable Fund could not compensate the victims for what they have suffered. It was simply intended to help people to rebuild their lives following the tragic events of 7th July. The main source of compensation for victims of the bombings is the Government’s statutory Criminal Injuries Compensation Scheme.
